Alator Data Services
Damp & Mould Monitoring

A data-driven approach to tackle damp and mould

At Alator, we passionately believe everyone deserves to live in a warm, healthy home, free of damp and mould. Sadly, this is not the reality for many, and tackling damp and mould is still a significant issue for many housing providers. Rising fuel costs and degrading housing stock are just some of the complex reasons damp and mould continues to prevail.

Change needs to happen, and fast, and at Alator we’re leading the change with our TrakAer Indoor Air Quality Service.

Pro-actively tackle damp & mould

By using a data-driven approach, we’re able to offer housing providers a total solution to pro-actively tackle damp and mould, thereby improving living conditions, reducing costs and ensuring compliance.

By placing our temperature, humidity and CO2 sensors in properties, we’re able to capture environmental data in real-time and present it to housing providers in a way that allows them to quickly identify properties most at risk. Crucially, this data supports thorough root-cause analysis, allowing housing providers to pinpoint underlying issues and prevent future problems. The data can also be used to highlight other potential risk factors such as void properties and fuel poverty.

Our total solution is designed to offer the most effective, trouble-free service on the market; from installation, to tenant engagement, to root cause analysis and even air purification treatment, our service allows housing providers to tailor their package to meet their individual business needs.

How it's works

Explained Step-By-Step

By placing our temperature, humidity and CO2 sensors in properties, we’re able to use a data-driven approach to quickly identify properties most at risk from damp and mould. This is how it works.

01 Identify

Identify properties for monitoring. Alator can use their environmental expertise to assist with the selection process.

02 Engage

Engage with tenants and staff to explain the process and address any questions or concerns. Alator can host lunch & learns, open discussions, training sessions or 1-to-1s.

03 Install

Install the easy-to-fit sensors and gateways. Alator can advise on optimum placement and assist with installation, if required.

04 Analyse

Data from the sensors is analysed by Alator then presented via your intuitive, online dashboard. The careful, simple design helps maintain focus on what is important.

05 Report

Easy-to-read property risk reports are available with one-click. A Technical Advisor is on-hand to talk you through the data and offer expert advice.

06 Action

Prioritise and implement effective predictive and proactive maintenance solutions based on data-driven decision-making.

Our Equipment

Sensors

Designed and made in the UK by our partner Data Monitoring Systems (DMS), our discrete, easy-to-use sensors take minutes to install and can be powered by replaceable batteries or mains power.

Gateways

Data from the sensors is sent to our gateways, which can be mains powered or hardwired. Our gateways have long range communication meaning one gateway can service multiple properties and up to 200 sensors. They’re also not reliant on 2G so will be unaffected when the 2G switch-off takes place. Configurable measurement intervals means you are in control of the system, giving you complete freedom.

Dashboard

The data from the gateway is transferred to Alator for expert analysis before being uploaded to an intuitive, online dashboard. The careful, simple design helps maintain focus on what is important. Property risk reports are available in one, easy click.
