GHG Monitoring

An innovative solution to continuous GHG monitoring

TrakAer, Alator’s greenhouse gas (GHG) monitor, is engineered to detect, monitor, and measure atmospheric levels of key greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and other contributors to climate change and global warming.

Traditionally, periodic spot monitoring and site walkovers have been the standard methods for quantifying fugitive emissions across industrial sites. However, at Alator, we advocate for remote continuous monitoring as a more effective approach. This method provides real-time data and insights into emission trends that may be missed with intermittent spot checks. Additionally, remote continuous monitoring reduces the operational CO2 footprint by minimising the need for physical site visits, thereby enhancing both resource and financial efficiency.

By integrating state-of-the-art multi-pass NDIR (Non-Dispersive Infrared) sensor technology with various bandpass filters and digital innovations, our system efficiently collects ambient greenhouse gas (GHG) data. This data can be used for internal or external reporting, as well as for monitoring plant efficiency or detecting leaks. Users can view the data through a user-friendly online dashboard or access it directly via communication protocols or APIs.

How it's works

Explained step-by-step

By placing our low-cost TrackAer sensors at site locations, we’re able to use a data-driven approach
to continuously monitor N2O, CH4, CO2, HC and water vapour.

01 Identify

Identify optimum site location. Alator can use their environmental expertise to assist with the decision process.

02 Install

Install the easy-to-fit sensors and gateways. Alator can advise on optimum placement and assist with installation.

03 Import

External data such as local weather parameters can be imported to our database via API.

04 Analyse

Data is analysed and presented via our online dashboard, which features a variety of graphical and statistical tools. Automated alerts can be set for specific concentration values, providing real-time site information.

05 Report

A monthly report is provided, detailing the emissions profile for each location along with a site-wide breakdown, helping to identify sources of GHGs. An Environmental Engineer is available to walk you through the data and offer expert advice when needed.

06 Action

Utilise data-driven insights to reduce your GHG footprint by prioritising locations for inspection, altering operational processes, adjusting plant conditions, and implementing meaningful changes.

Our Equipment

Sensors

Designed and made in the UK by our partner Data Monitoring Systems (DMS), our discrete, easy-to-use sensors take minutes to install and are solar or mains powered. With a range of configurations, we can cover your GHG monitoring requirements.

Gateways

Data from the sensors is sent to our gateways, which can be solar, or mains powered. Our gateways have long range communication meaning one gateway can service multiple properties and up to 100 devices. They’re also not reliant on 2G so will be unaffected when the 2G switch-off takes place. Configurable measurement intervals means you are in control of the system, giving you complete freedom.

Dashboard

The data from the gateway is transferred to Alator for expert analysis before being uploaded to an intuitive, online dashboard. The careful, simple design helps maintain focus on what is important. Tailored reports available in one, easy click.

  • Designed & made in the UK
  • Small, discrete and easy to install
  • One gateway can service multiple properties and up to 200 sensors
  • Not reliant on 2G
  • Intuitive dashboard
  • One-click property risk reports
